When we first moved here, I was shocked at how many folks DON'T run to their basements when there is a severe storm warning. Being from OR, where we mostly have floods, I couldn't believe that people are standing in the cul de sac WATCHING the lightening. Fools.
Last night at about 9:30 I decide to go for a walk. Guess what? It was storming. I put on some yoga pants, my tennies, a hat, a hoodie, had my ipod and was ready to go! I have become one of "them".
I have to tell you that walking in a storm is pretty close to amazing. I couldn't hear the rain (Immaculate collection, yet again, pounding in my ears), but I could feel the drops on my head and feel the steam rising in my sweatshirt.
Listening to God bowl, and play w/ His flashlight was pretty cool.
There were several families hanging out in their garages watching. They looked at me like I was the crazy one. I guess it's all come full circle.
There was one point where I had a great meeting with God. I was in a cul de sac. Gwen Stefani's "It's a Wonderful Life" came on. God reminded me who He was. I raised my arms & probably sang the words too loud to be within the noise restriction guidelines (it WAS 10 pm).
I felt like he was telling me to go to my knees, but I was disobedient...it was too wet. But I had some serious tears, some of joy, some not.
I had almost forgotten what that felt like. For Him to really speak to me. I'm going to work on listening better.
And for anyone who lives on Caitlin Bridge....my sincerest apologies. I promise to time it better, so that Lucky Star, Holiday & Cherish come on while I'm on another street. No reason you should have to see that dance outburst EVER AGAIN!

My husband is that way about storms. He loves them and always watches. Me, I hunker down with a pillow over my head.
I do love your choice in music, though, and wish someone had caught that dancing on video...
Great post! I was one of the goofy people out in the rain walking around. I seriously think my neighbors think I am crazy.
I was laughing so hard!! I love thunder storms!! I usually open all the windows and listen to it, the gentle breeze etc.
Good for you getting out and walking!!!!!!
I'm thinking of you today!!

Killer post! Dance like there is nobody watching... but be keenly aware that there is ONE.
